The TOEIC (Test of English for international communication) L&R test is designed for English-language learners at the beginner and intermediate levels. Test results provide proficiency levels and help test takers track their progress in and set goals for improving their English-language skills.

The two main test sections are:

• Listening Comprehension — listen to recorded statements, questions, short conversations and short talks in English
• Reading — single sentences as well as texts

Listening comprehension consists of three parts i.e. photographs, question-response and short conversations and short talks whereas based on what they read, candidates have to answer incomplete sentences and reading comprehension in Reading section of this test.
